অতসির কান্না! (পরশ মির্জা)
টঙ্গীতে গার্মেন্টস কারখানায় শ্রমিকের কাজ করে অয়ন। ঈদের ছুটিতে শুক্রবারে বাড়ী যাবে। অাট বছর বয়সী অাদুরে মেয়ে অতসীর সাথে মোবাইলে কথা বলে। ওর জন্য কি কি নিয়ে অাসবে জানায়। মেয়ের সাথে কথা বলার পর অয়ন জানতে পারে শুক্রবারে ছুটি হবে না। কারখানার মালিক নোটিশ দিয়েছে শুক্র ও শনিবার রাতদিন কাজ হবে। তাই শুক্র ও শনি কারখানা খোলা থাকবে। শনিবারে কাজ শেষে শ্রমিকদের ছুটি হবে। তাই অয়ন ও কারখানার অন্যান্য শ্রমিকদের শুক্রবারে ছুটি হয়নি। ব্জ্রপাতের মত মালিকের পক্ষ থেকে এমন নির্দেশনা অাসায় মন খারাপ অয়নের। শুক্রবারে যে ছুটি হবে না তা অার মেয়েকে জানায়নি। জানায় স্ত্রীকে।
অয়ন শুক্রবার রাতের শিফটে কাজে যায়। ভোরবেলায় হঠাৎ কারখানায় অাগুন লাগে। অাগুনের লেলিহান শিখা দাউদাউ করে জ্বলতে থাকে। কারখানার অন্যান্য শ্রমিকদের সাথে অয়নও অাটকা পড়ে। একসময় অাগুন ঘিরে ফেলে অয়নদের। অাটকে পড়া অয়নরা জীবন্ত পুড়তে থাকে। অাস্তে অাস্তে নিভে যায় অয়নদের জীবনপ্রদীপ! অাগুনে পোড়া অয়নদের লাশ চলে যায় ঢাকা মেডিক্যালে।
অয়ন ছুটি পেলে বাড়ী পৌঁছতে পৌঁছতে সাধারণত রাত হয়ে যায়। তাই এবারও রাতে বাবা বাড়ীতে অাসবে। এটাই মনে করে অতসী। শুক্রবার সন্ধ্যার পর হতেই বাবার অাসার প্রতীক্ষায় থাকে অতসী। একসময় রাতের খাবার খেয়ে মার সাথে শুয়ে পড়ে। বাবার কথা ভাবতে ভাবতে ঘুমিয়ে যায়। সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠে অতসী দেখে বাবা বাড়ীতে অাসেনি। বাবা বাড়ীতে না অাসায় অতসীর শিশুমন কেঁদে উঠে। ভাবছে বাবা অাসেনি কেন? অস্থির হয়ে উঠে অতসীর মন! বাবা যে বলেছিল তার জন্য অনেককিছু নিয়ে অাসবে। বিছানায় পড়ে থাকা মোবাইল হাতে নিয়ে বাবার নাম্বারে কল দেয়। কিন্তুু রিং হয় না। বারবার কল দেয়। তবুও রিং হয় না।। কেঁদে উঠে অতসী। চিৎকার করে মাকে ডাকে। দৌঁড়ে রান্নাঘরে মার কাছে যায়। মাকে বলে, ও মা বাবার নম্বরে রিং অয় না ক্যান! অতসী কেঁদে কেঁদে বলতে থাকে, বাবা তুমি কবে অাইবা!
অতসীর মা মোবাইল হাতে নিয়ে অয়নকে কল দেয়। সত্যিই তো। মোবাইলে কল হচ্ছে না। অতসীর মায়ের মনও অস্থির হয়ে পড়ে। পরক্ষণে ভাবলো, হয়তো মোবাইলে চার্জ নেই। তাই মোবাইল বন্ধ। অতসীকে নাস্তা দেয় মা। মন খারাপ করে প্রথমে নাস্তা খেতে না চাইলেও পরে মায়ের কথায় খায়। নাস্তা খেয়ে বাড়ীর অাঙ্গিনায় সমবয়সী শিশুদের সাথে খেলতে যায় অতসী।
বেলা ১১টায় একটি অপরিচিত নাম্বার থেকে কল অাসে অতসীর মা’র মোবাইলে। অপরিচিত নাম্বার বিধায় প্রথমে কল ধরেনি। পরে অাবার রিং হওয়ায় কল ধরে। অপর প্রান্ত থেকে কেউ একজন বলে, ভোরবেলায় কারখানায় অাগুন লেখেছিল। অয়নসহ অারো অনেক শ্রমিক অাগুনে পুড়ে মারা গেছে। এ কথা শুনেই অতসীর মা চিৎকার দিয়ে উঠে। বলে, ও অাল্লা এ কি অইল! চিৎকার করে কাঁদতে থাকে অতসীর মা।
মা’র চিৎকার ও কান্নার অাওয়াজ শুনে বাড়ীর অাঙ্গিনা থেকে দৌঁড়ে ঘরে অাসে অতসী। মাকে বলে, মা কানতাছ ক্যান? কি অইছে? মা বলে, অতসীরে তর বাবার মোবাইল বন্ধ। অার কুনুদিন বাজবো না। এই কথা বলে অতসীকে ঝাঁপটে ধরে মা। মা’র কান্না দেখে অতসীও কেঁদে উঠে। মা মেয়ের কান্নায় ভারী হয়ে উঠে অাকাশ বাতাস। ভারী হয়ে উঠে চারপাশ!
