পিতা-মাতাকে ভরণ-পোষণ না দেওয়ায় ছেলের জেলহাজত

জামালপুরের মেলান্দহ উপজেলায় এক বয়স্ক পিতা-মাতাকে নির্যাতন ও ভরণ-পোষণ না করায় ছেলেকে জেলহাজতে পাঠিয়েছে আদালত।
জানা যায়, ছেলে হাবিব শেখ (২৫) এর অত্যাচার-নির্যাতন ও ভরণ-পোষণ না দেওয়ায় নিরুপায় হয়ে জেলার মেলান্দহ থানায় মামলা দায়ের করেন বয়স্ক পিতা তোফাজ্জল হোসেন। এর পর পুলিশ আটক করে বৃহস্পতিবার (২৫ জানুয়ারি) দুপুরে আদালতে সোপর্দ করলে চীফ জুডিসিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট কোর্টের বিচারক জুডিসিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মোঃ আতাউল্ল্যাহ তাকে জেল হাজতে প্রেরণ করেন।
মেলান্দহ থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা(ওসি) মোহাম্মদ রাজু আহাম্মদ বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। অভিযুক্ত ছেলে হাবিব শেখ উপজেলার ঝাউগড়া ইউনিয়নের চর রুহিলী গ্রামের মোঃ তোফাজ্জল হোসেন ও মোছাঃ হাজেরা বেগম দম্পতির ছেলে।
মামলা সূত্রে জানা গেছে, বৃদ্ধা পিতা-মাতার সাথে উগ্র আচরণ করতো অভিযুক্ত ছেলে বখাটে প্রকৃতির। সে কাজে অমনোযোগী। সে ঘরের জিনিসপত্রও ভেঙে ফেলতো। তার অত্যাচারে অতিষ্ঠ হয়ে বুধবার রাতে পিতা তোফাজ্জল হোসেন বাদী হয়ে মেলান্দহ থানায় অভিযোগ দায়ের করেন। অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে তার নিজ বাড়ি থেকে পুলিশ ছেলে হাবিব সেককে গ্রেপ্তার করে।
বয়স্ক পিতা তোফাজ্জল হোসেন বলেন,আমার একমাত্র ছেলে। আশা ছিল বড় হয়ে আমাদের দেখবাল করবে। মাঝে সে ভালোই ছিল। কিন্তু মাদক আসক্ত হয়ে পড়ায় টাকা পয়সা না পেলেই আমাদের সাথে নির্যাতন-অত্যাচার শুরু করতো। তাই কোন উপায় না পেয়ে থানা পুলিশকে জানাই। ঘটনা শুনেই ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করেন ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা।
মেলান্দহ থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোহাম্মদ রাজু আহাম্মদ বলেন, পিতা-মাতাকে ভরণ-পোষণ না দেওয়ার অভিযোগে বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে অভিযুক্ত ছেলে হাবিব শেখকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। দুপুরে তাকে আদালতে সোপর্দ করলে চীফ জুডিসিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট কোর্টের বিচারক জুডিসিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মোঃ আতাউল্ল্যাহ তাকে জেল হাজতে প্রেরণ করেন।
