দেশবিরোধী ঘাতক সন্ত্রাসী বিএনপি জামায়াত জোটের ডাকা অনৈতিক হরতালে জনগণের জানমাল ও সার্বিক নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে ময়মনসিংহ মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগ কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির নির্দেশনা মোতাবেক রাজপথে সক্রিয় থাকবে। তারই অংশ হিসেবে ২৯ অক্টোবর সকাল ১০ টা ৩০ মিনিটে শিববাড়িস্থ আওয়ামী লীগ দলীয় কার্যালয়ে ময়মনসিংহ মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের কার্যকরী কমিটির নেতৃবৃন্দ, উপদেষ্টামন্ডলীর সদস্যবৃন্দ, মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের অন্তর্গত ওয়ার্ড আওয়ামী লীগের নেতাকর্মীগণ এবং সহযোগী ও ভাতৃপ্রতিম সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীগণকে উপস্থিত থাকার জন্য ময়মনসিংহ মহানগর আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি মোঃ ইকরামুল হক টিটু ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক মোহিত-উর- রহমান শান্ত এর পক্ষ থেকে নির্দেশনা দেয়া হয়।
২৮ তারিখ বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগ ময়মনসিংহ মহানগর কমিটির দপ্তর সম্পাদক সুমন চন্দ্র ঘোষ স্বাক্ষরিত এক প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে তা জানানো হয়।
